We knew we wanted a winch at some point, but after getting stuck in the neighbouring field at 10 in the night it was decided to be now and not later..

Strip down the front end.

Mount the bumper and winch, with extension pieces for the Aircon to cleared

The front overhang from the bumper was to much for my eyes, so it had to come off again.

Removed the aircon extensions, and cut back in to the grill a bit

Looks so much better, spooled of the wire and on with e synthetic rope.

Dual Battery in the seat compartment dosn´t leave much space-- plans ar for a dual charging system to fit in there as well, cant just wrap my head around the space issues yet.

Lugging around the two us on everyday basis is not at problem with standard Land rover seats but planing vaction with 3 kids needs proper back seating.

Got a hold of a set og 2017 VW touran seats, and witht help of my father we fabricated a subframe that bolts to the existing mounting points

2 days after my last post we moved to a new house ? so not much work done on the truck.

Now it was time for flywheel and clutch swap on the 110" Parts ordered in november and the clutch wasn´t getting better.

Off to my mates workshop or some help and tools.

Flywheel was about time, its a dualmass and the "dual" mass was over.. the 2 parts had separated.

Along with the flywheel we changed the clutch, crankshaft seal, and the bearing and bushes for the clutch.

All done by moving the gearbox 30 cm. back  leaving just enough space for hands and tools.

300.000 km. of wear on the Clutch Guide

All sorted and ordered some new parts for spottede problems during the flywheel change.

The truck as whole new feel and drive (not so jittery) and much softer clutch.

  • 2 weeks later...

While some where at the vinterträff, i was in the workshop.

Had looked at the Hi-Lift mount for the Frontrunner Rack, and found that with the 163 cm Hi-Lift, it would give some issues with the roof top tent.

So i opted for the home made version.

Think, Cut, Think, Cut, Think, Weld... :-)

After test fitting i decided to make 2 bolts to hold the foot of  the Hi-Lift, and go for a bigger bolt on the "top" end.

I might also cut off some of the excess material, to make it a bit less bulky looking.

The defender have developed a slight case of wobbly driving around 80 km/t spent a few days trying to sort this out.. but with no luck.

today I’ll take it to the tire shop to if it’s a bad wheel balance or something like that..

So drove it to work in the sunrise 😎 I’m a big fan of the defender 🙃

Opted for a second hand driveshaft with new universal joints today. Fitted but no test drive yet 🥵.

Cleaned our the car for next weeks trip.

installed a overhead light above the backdoor and a cargo net

Fitted rubber mats between tent and roofrack to stop all the rattling sounds...

busy 🐝

Wooden blocks raise the tent clear of the roofracks edge, when unfolding.

Balanssand/kulor/kugler funkar fint. Använd dom som är i plast eftersom man släpper in en del fukt om man sänker/höjer däcktryck ofta

Heard another story yesterday from off-road hardcore guys who drive 33” simex tires. They use engine cooloant for balance.

It lubricates and keeps wheel in balance.

it should also be known to be used on aircraft wheels ?
